We're so excited to celebrate this special weekend with you! Our hope is that this can be just as much a fun vacation for you all, as it will be an unforgettable weekend for us! Our wedding is set to take place in the beautiful Douro Valley at The Vintage House Hotel, about an hour from Porto, Portugal. We are elated to be able to share in this special experience with our closest friends & family, and look forward to A Long Wedding Weekend!

Bus Departs to Bring Guests back to Central Porto
Our Story
Three years ago, Lauren embarked on a job hunt that would forever alter the course of her life. In a remarkable twist of fate, her friend, Olivia, was employed at a company known as MediaMath at the time, and in a dream scenario to work together since they were kids, Olivia convinced Lauren to join her in the professional realm.
At the helm of MediaMath's recruitment efforts was none other than Jonathan Long, who found himself persistently prodded about Lauren's application by Olivia. With a sigh, Jonathan finally relented and decided to reach out to Lauren. What transpired next was an enchanting encounter, where Lauren found herself charmed by Jonathan's English accent, (though she vehemently denies it to this day). It's worth noting, however, that regardless of any initial attraction between the two, Lauren secured her position through her own outstanding qualifications!
Fast forward a month, and Lauren stood outside Four World Trade Center, her new workplace, unable to gain access to the building.
Their paths crossed on March 3rd, 2020, at precisely 9:00 a.m., thanks to a comical mishap in HR that misspelled Lauren's name—a mistake not taken lightly by the building's stringent protocols. Anxious and amidst the hustle and bustle of peak rush hour, Jonathan came to the rescue and personally escorted Lauren to her desk.
On that very day, with a little not-so-subtle guidance from their now mutual friend, Olivia, Jonathan Long found himself sliding into the DMs of a one Mowgli Greenfeld, inquiring if he could have the privilege of taking his mother out for a drink. In response, on her first day of work, Lauren politely declined—because, how very un-hr of him!
Not even a week later, a global lockdown descended upon them, and they found themselves unexpectedly thrust into a new reality. In the face of uncertainty, this newfound group of friends forged connections through virtual happy hours and game nights on Zoom.
As the days turned into weeks, however, those virtual gatherings transformed from group hang outs into intimate words-with-friends competitions, heartfelt text messages, and endless hours of video chats. Lauren found herself yearning for that drink, once offered seemingly ages ago.
Consequently, she made the trek back into the city, and on May 7th, 2020, a mere two months after that fateful meeting, Jonathan & Lauren decided to make it official. They ventured to Lauren’s family home in Long Island where Mowgli gave his blessing by eating Jonathan’s shoe….and the rest was history!
Since then, nearly three wonderful years have unfolded—Times of endless laughter, adventures, culinary escapades featuring Queen Victoria sponge cakes, daily walks and cuddles with prince mo’, countless hours devoted to watching (and re-watching) Chelsea games, evenings of indulging in bar food, innumerable games of Kings Corners, Rummy, and Uno, a trio of apartment moves, an abundance of Battery Park sunsets, and an incalculable exchange of "I love you more."
Today, we extend our heartfelt invitation to join us in celebrating the official union of our family.

When should I RSVP by?
As soon as possible, please, so we can make the necessary arrangements with our wedding planners! That said, we’ll be accepting RSVP’s up until April 14th (Reach out to us with any exceptions!).
When can I start booking my flights?
Whenever you're ready!
The Douro Valley is renowned for it's vineyards and Portugal has some beautiful beaches, amazing sights and also borders Spain. There are endless possibilities for travel! We plan to provide some recommendations of activities in the area, but we truly hope you use this opportunity to explore the country and beyond.
Can you share more about the venue & accommodations?
The Vintage House is a 5-Star hotel located on the picturesque Pinhão landscape, nestled right along the Douro River, about 1.5 hours outside of Central Porto.
As the focal point of the upcoming festivities, we've taken the liberty of reserving the entirety of the hotel, exclusively for our event and extend a warm invitation for all our guests to partake in staying at our venue.
The cost of lodging will fall within the responsibility of each individual guest.
We believe that this arrangement allows you the flexibility to choose the type of room that suits your preferences & budget, but also allows you to pursue accommodation elsewhere should you choose! We respect & honor your freedom of choice above all else.
We kindly request that upon confirming your attendance in our formal rsvp, you indicate your lodging preferences for the weekend.
Should you wish to stay with us at The Vintage House (which we hope you do!), we will share a booking form with you. As we have reserved the venue, guest rooms must be booked via a booking form rather than on the hotel website.
Considering the convenience, we do recommend proximity to the heart of the celebration should you opt for alternative accommodations.
Are children invited?
Children are welcome if we've listed your children on the invitation by either "name" or "and family". We’ve hired 2 babysitters for the evening to help entertain all the little ones present in an alternate area of the hotel for those parents who would like to have a “date night”.
Can I bring a plus one?
We’re grateful for your understanding that we're unable to accommodate additional guests beyond those specifically named on your invitation. Please know that this decision was not made lightly, and we hope that you'll still be able to join us and share in the celebration. Your presence matters to us, and we can't wait to create wonderful memories together.

You will need a valid passport that does not expire for at least 6 months after the date of departure.
We highly recommend checking your passport at least 4 months prior to departure to ensure enough time should you need to renew.

Oporto (Porto) International Airport, traditionally called Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport, is the closest international airport to the Douro Valley. Located approximately 1.5 hours from Pinhao.

Should you choose to fly into Lisbon Airport instead, it's about a 4-hour drive to Central Porto. From there, you would need to then transfer to either a train or car to Pinhao.

Getting to (and from)
The Vintage House
Sao Bento station
There is a train that goes directly from central Porto to the Vintage House Hotel, which leaves from Sao Bento Station.
This train ride is notably scenic, and we recommend this route if you're prone to car sickness! The ride to the Douro Valley is rather windy through mountains and vineyards.

Shuttle or Car
We will be offering a shuttle from Central Porto to the our venue in the Douro Valley, as well as on the way back. Should you choose to take the shuttle, please RSVP accordingly.
Should you choose to forgo the shuttle and the train, you can get an Uber to the venue, and of course, should you choose to rent a car, there is parking at the venue. If you‘re continuing to travel around, we recommend this!

Getting Back...
The methods for getting to the venue will be the same methods offered for getting back.
Some Notes on Uber:
Should you choose to Uber to the venue, and choose to forgo the alternative transport noted above on your way back, we highly recommend scheduling a car service in advance of your trip.
Though you can take an Uber to The Vintage House, due to the remote location of the Douro Valley, Uber is not readily available on the way back.

Porto
